The Schmieding Caregiver Training program is a nationally recognized method born out of benefactor Lawrence H. Schmieding's inspired quest to enrich the lives of older adults through empowerment, understanding and quality home caregiver education.

NOTE: This online course satisfies the training requirements of the Arkansas Department of Human Services for personal care providers (PCAs). The online delivery of this course will NOT qualify for eligibility to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). Students interested in taking a CNA-qualifier course should visit for information about the IHA in-person course, which does qualify for CNA hours.

The Schmieding Home Caregiver Training Program was developed by the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education, a program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Science. The online delivery of the training program is offered by Elder Stay At Home, Inc. as a joint project with the University of Arkansas Global Campus.
